DELTA GOVT SUSPENDS WORKS COMMISSIONER OVER ALLEGED LINK TO PTI ASSAULT

The Delta State Government has indefinitely suspended the Commissioner for Works (Highways and Urban Roads), Hon. Izeze Rume Yakubu Reuben, with immediate effect.

The suspension, announced by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Kingsley Emu, is to allow security agencies conduct an impartial investigation into allegations linking the Commissioner to the recent assault of the State Government’s Senior Special Assistant on Protocol, Mr. Simon Mudi, popularly known as “Temple,” at the Petroleum Training Institute (PTI), Effurun.

According to the SSG, the decision is necessary to ensure that the investigation is conducted without interference and that the truth surrounding the incident is established.

The Delta State Government reiterated that it remains committed to protecting public safety, maintaining law and order, and upholding the sanctity of human life—regardless of who may be involved.

The suspension is expected to remain in place pending the outcome of the investigation.

The big question now: What will the security agencies uncover?
