#EndBadGovernance Movement Tags AIG Jimoh Moshood 'Thug In Police Uniform,' Demands Suspension, Prosecution Over Alleged Rights Abuses
The #EndBadGovernance Movement has called for the immediate suspension and prosecution of Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG) Jimoh Moshood over alleged human rights abuses, describing him as a "thug in police uniform."
In a statement, the movement accused the senior police officer of alleged abuse of office, arbitrary arrests, unlawful detention of activists, and the suppression of peaceful protesters. The group argued that such actions undermine the rule of law and citizens' constitutional rights.
The movement demanded an independent investigation into the allegations and urged the relevant authorities to suspend AIG Moshood pending the outcome of the probe. It further insisted that, should the allegations be substantiated, he should face prosecution in accordance with the law.
The demands come amid heightened public scrutiny surrounding AIG Moshood. Separately, the Nigeria Police Force has stated that allegations against him are being addressed through established legal and administrative processes and has maintained that any criminal matters connected to the allegations should be resolved by the courts rather than through public campaigns.
As of the time of publication, the allegations remain unproven, and no court has found AIG Jimoh Moshood guilty of the alleged rights abuses.
