SOWORE RAISES ALARM, ALLEGES DSS TRACKED HIS MOVEMENTS IN PORT HARCOURT

AAC presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore has alleged that operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) were tracking his movements in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

Sowore made the allegation after his team reportedly discovered an electronic tracking device attached underneath a security vehicle they had been using.

According to him, the discovery came after he and his associates noticed what they described as suspicious movements following his appearance at a gathering organised by the Kay Hikers group.

Sowore said the team subsequently switched vehicles, leading to the discovery of the alleged tracking device underneath the vehicle.

He claimed the device was connected to an attempt by the DSS to monitor his movements while he was in Port Harcourt for the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Annual General Conference.

However, there is currently no independent evidence establishing that the DSS planted the device, and the agency had not publicly responded to the allegation as of the latest reports.

Sowore, who has remained a vocal critic of government policies and security agencies, described the alleged surveillance as evidence that authorities are concerned about his activities.

The allegation has now sparked fresh questions over surveillance, privacy and the activities of security agencies in Nigeria.
