BREAKING REALITY: The Opposition Is Already Falling Apart Before 2027 Even Begins Nigerians are watching another political movie unfold and this one is already looking predictable. Just a few months after opposition politicians started talking about unity against the ruling APC ahead of 2027, cracks are already showing everywhere. The same people shouting coalition and rescue mission are now battling over control, leadership, ambition, and trust. And honestly, many Nigerians are no longer surprised. Today’s political conversations across the country are centered around one major issue. Can the opposition truly unite long enough to challenge the APC in 2027 or are Nigerians about to witness another failed alliance built only on desperation for power? Recent reports suggest that internal disagreements inside the opposition coalition are growing stronger by the day. ([Reuters][1]) The truth is simple. Everybody wants to remove Tinubu but nobody wants to step down for another person. That is the real problem. Atiku wants influence. Obi wants relevance. Kwankwaso wants control. Other political heavyweights want guarantees for themselves before any serious agreement can happen. Yet they keep telling Nigerians they are fighting for democracy and national unity. Nigerians are tired of hearing beautiful speeches while politicians secretly fight for positions behind closed doors. What is even more shocking is how quickly the so called mega coalition started developing internal confusion. Reports this week revealed growing disagreements and mistrust among opposition figures over party structures and leadership direction. ([Reuters][1]) This is exactly why many Nigerians still believe the APC remains stronger politically despite the economic hardship in the country. Love them or hate them, the APC understands one thing very well. Structure. While opposition parties are still arguing over who should lead and which platform to use, the ruling party is already organizing membership registration, internal structures, and strategic positioning ahead of the next election cycle. ([The Guardian Nigeria][2]) Politics is not won through press conferences and social media sympathy. Politics is won through planning, discipline, local control, alliances, and political calculation. Another issue many Nigerians are now noticing is that most opposition alliances in Nigeria are usually built around anger instead of ideology. They unite because they want to defeat someone, not because they share the same long term vision for the country. Once personal ambition enters the room, the unity starts collapsing immediately. That is exactly what appears to be happening now. Some supporters are already fighting online over who deserves the presidential ticket. Others are warning that they will leave the coalition if their preferred candidate is not chosen. So the big question becomes this: How can politicians who cannot manage themselves claim they are ready to manage over 200 million Nigerians? Painful question. But it deserves an honest answer. Even more interesting is the growing frustration among ordinary Nigerians who once believed a united opposition would finally challenge the ruling system. Many people now fear that ego, greed, and personal ambition may once again destroy any chance of a serious political alternative before 2027 even arrives. And this is where things become dangerous for the opposition. Nigerians are emotional voters. Once people lose belief in your unity, your movement starts weakening immediately. Citizens want confidence. They want stability. They want to see leadership. Nobody wants to invest hope in a coalition that looks confused every week. The recent tension surrounding leadership battles in some opposition parties has only increased public doubt. Legal disputes and internal conflicts are already threatening preparations for future elections. ([The Guardian Nigeria][3]) Imagine entering a presidential race while still fighting over who controls the party headquarters. That is political suicide. Some analysts are already warning that the opposition may repeat the same mistake that destroyed previous coalitions in Nigeria. Too many powerful men. Too many personal interests. Too little trust. And while they continue struggling internally, the APC is quietly watching everything unfold. This does not mean Nigerians are fully satisfied with the current government. Far from it. Many citizens are frustrated over hardship, insecurity, inflation, unemployment, and rising living costs. But frustration alone does not automatically produce a winning opposition. A weak opposition can make even an unpopular ruling party look stronger. That is another painful political reality many people avoid discussing. At this point, Nigerians are no longer asking whether the opposition can criticize the government. Anybody can criticize. The real question is whether they can stay united long enough to convince Nigerians they are truly ready to govern differently. Because from everything happening today, unity inside the opposition looks more like a temporary agreement than a solid political force. And if things continue like this, 2027 may become another election where the opposition defeats itself before voters even arrive at the polling units. Now tell me honestly. Do you think the opposition coalition can survive until 2027 or will ambition destroy everything before the election even starts?
